Be Careful What You Ask For
A poem for Francisco Mora Catlett's Afro Horn
Be careful what you ask for
you will get it
you will get it
two sons of the Sun
two sons of Mother Earth
walked together in tune
a greater tune vibing innards
call it soul sauce
Afro Blue
Royal
two souls of the Sun Ra
birthed in the Ra jail
necessary discipline
for this time
this hour
come together
sound and word are one
dance to the Sun
the color of earth guides us
compassion love strength
Mother Catlett gave us both
and Daavid
that master soul
heal Daavid heal
our work is real
for seven generations
