What an exciting week of engagement!
Beyond
the nearly 300 Oakland residents, workers and business owners who
attended last Monday’s workshop for Plan Downtown Oakland, hundreds more
have shared ideas, concerns and feedback at the ongoing open house at
1544 Broadway. The ideas you’ve shared address everything from making
short-term improvements to supporting affordable housing to reconnecting
and uniting neighborhoods over the next few decades.
The
project team has listened and sketched out draft concepts to help the
community visualize what these ideas will look like on the ground. It is
early in the planning process, but take this opportunity to come see
these visions and suggestions take shape as specific draft
recommendations and provide feedback.
Wednesday, October 28, 6pm
Paramount Theatre, 2025 Broadway Enjoy refreshments and special performances by local artists and students at this informal open house.
Following
the Mayor’s State of the City address, the team will present the
initial images and ideas informed by public input gathered since the
project began.
Your
input on these ideas is critical. We want to know if we’ve heard you
correctly, if we’ve missed anything and whether we’re headed in the
right direction.
Please join us in this conversation, and invite your friends, neighbors and colleagues.
