Chains you can believe in: Obama wins right to indefinitely detain Americans under NDAA 18 Sep 2012 A lone appeals judge bowed down to the Obama administration late Monday and reauthorized the White House's ability to indefinitely detain American citizens without charge or due process. Last week, a federal judge ruled that a temporary injunction on section 702 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012 must be made permanent, essentially barring the White House from enforcing a clause in the NDAA that can let them put any US citizen behind bars indefinitely over mere allegations of terrorist associations. On Monday, the US Justice Department asked for an emergency stay on that order, and hours later US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit Judge Raymond Lohier agreed to intervene and place a hold on the injunction. The stay will remain in effect until at least September 28, when a three-judge appeals court panel is expected to begin addressing the issue.
U.S. Warns Ruling Impedes Its Detention Powers 18 Sep 2012 The Obama administration warned Monday that a judge's ruling last week blocking a statute authorizing the indefinite detention of terrorism suspects has jeopardized its ability to continue detaining certain prisoners captured during the war in Afghanistan. In an emergency appeal of the ruling, the government asserted that United States District Court Judge Katherine B. Forrest went beyond enjoining the statute - enacted last year as part of the National Defense Authorization Act - and potentially curtailed detention powers it has been exercising for years under its interpretation of the authorization to use military force against the perpetrators of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. The indefinite detention provision in the version of the annual National Defense Authorization Act enacted last year was contentious because lawmakers did not make clear whether American citizens could also be held without trial as wartime prisoners, and they did not specify what kinds of conduct constituted the "support" that could make someone detainable, nor which "associated forces" were off-limits.
White House demands military prisons for Americans under NDAA 17 Sep 2012 The White House has asked the US Second Circuit Court of Appeals to place an emergency stay on a ruling made last week by a federal judge so that the president's power to indefinitely detain Americans without charge is reaffirmed immediately. On September 12, US District Court Judge Katherine Forrest made permanent a temporary injunction she issued in May that bars the federal government from abiding by the indefinite detention provision in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, or NDAA. Judge Forrest ruled that a clause that gives the government the power to arrest US citizens suspected of maintaining alliances with terrorists and hold them without due process violated the Constitution and that the White House would be stripped of that ability immediately.
US suspends joint military operations with Afghanistan after attacks 17 Sep 2012 The US military has suspended joint operations with Afghan forces because of a collapse in trust after a surge in the number of Americans and other Nato soldiers killed by the men they are fighting alongside or training. The chief US military officer, General Martin Dempsey, described the sharp rise in "insider attacks" by rogue Afghan soldiers and policemen, which saw four American and two British soldiers killed at the weekend, as "a very serious threat to the campaign" against the Taliban. American commanders said that joint operations on the ground will be suspended "until further notice" in a dramatic admission that the strategy to shift responsibility for fighting the insurgents to local forces has been deeply compromised by Afghan government soldiers and policemen killing 51 Nato soldiers in 36 attacks this year.
US lost eight jets in worst air loss in one day since Vietnam war 17 Sep 2012 After Taliban gunmen destroyed eight Harrier jets at a US camp in Helmand Province, the US military has suffered its worst air loss in one day since the Vietnam War. The Taliban attacked Camp Bastion, the main strategic base in southwestern Afghanistan, on Sept. 14, causing $200 million in damage in the single most destructive strike on a Western base during the war, according to military officials. Two Marines were killed, nine coalition personnel were wounded and six jets costing between $23 million and $30 million were completely destroyed.
Suicide blast kills 12 near Kabul's airport in Afghanistan 18 Sep 2012 Twelve people were killed near Kabul's airport Tuesday when a suicide car bomber rammed into a minivan carrying foreign air-charter workers, Afghan officials said. A Pakistan-based militant group said it carried out the attack to avenge a YouTube video that defames the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Many of the victims were contract personnel with Air Charter Service, a British-based company that provides services to the U.S. Agency for International Development and other organizations in Afghanistan, U.S. Embassy officials said.
Nine foreigners killed in Afghan attack 18 Sep 2012 At least 12 people, including nine foreigners, have been killed in a car bomb attack that hit a minivan carrying foreigners to Afghanistan's Kabul International Airport, Press TV reports. The attack took place on the eight-lane highway in front of a wedding hall in the Afghan capital on Tuesday. Reports say a bomber blew up the minivan, killing nine foreign workers, their Afghan translator, and two other Afghans. Eight Afghan workers have also been wounded in the bomb attack.
Pakistan fires nuclear capable missile 17 Sep 2012 Pakistan on Monday test-fired a nuclear-capable cruise missile with "stealth features", the military said, the country's first such exercise in more than three months. The military described the Hatf-VII Babur missile as a "low-flying, terrain-hugging missile, which can strike targets both at land and sea with pin point accuracy" and has a range of 700 kilometres (440 miles).
50 US troops deployed in Sana'a, Yemen govt. says 17 Sep 2012 The Yemeni government says the United States has deployed 50 Marines in Sana'a to boost security at the US Embassy in response to the recent violent upheavals over an anti-Islam movie. On Friday, the Pentagon announced that it had sent Marines to Yemen after demonstrators stormed the US Embassy in Sana'a in protest over an anti-Islam film made in the US. Earlier, some media outlets reported that 250 US soldiers had arrived in Sana'a on Friday and Saturday.
Iran's newest nuclear facility struck by saboteurs 17 Sep 2012 Saboteurs have struck Iran's newest and most sensitive nuclear facility by blowing up its power supply cables, the head of the country's atomic energy programme disclosed. This announcement offered a rare glimpse of a long-running campaign to sabotage Iran's critical nuclear installations, believed to be a key priority of Western and Israeli intelligence agencies. The Fordow plant, located inside a bunker dug into a mountainside, became the latest target on Aug 17 when an explosion severed its electricity cables, running from the nearby city of Qom. Fereydoun Abbasi, the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organisation, disclosed the incident during a speech in Vienna to the 155 members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He noted that IAEA inspectors visited Fordow the day after the explosion and insinuated that they might have been responsible.
Iran atomic chief says 'explosives' cut power at facility 17 Sep 2012 Explosive blasts destroyed power lines to Iran's underground nuclear facility at Fordo last month, the head of Iran's atomic agency said at a meeting of UN atomic agency member states Monday. "On...17th August 2012, the electric power lines from the city of Qom to the Fordo complex...were cut using explosives," Fereydoon Abbasi Davani told the 155-nation International Atomic Energy Agency gathering in a speech.
US deploys extra troops overseas as protests continue to spread --Demonstrations over Prophet film now in 20 Muslim countries and likely to persist for days 17 Sep 2012 Conceding that angry protests are likely to continue for days, the US defence department has sent extra troops to protect "personnel and property" at America's diplomatic outposts across the Muslim world. The deployment was revealed as the Obama administration ordered an evacuation of all but emergency staff from Tunisia and Sudan... The Pentagon has "deployed forces to a number of areas in the region", said the Defence Secretary, Leon Panetta.
Intel agencies warned U.S. Embassy in Egypt of possible violence 17 Sep 2012 A U.S. intelligence cable warned the American Embassy in Cairo of possible violence in response to Arabic-language broadcasts of clips from an anti-Muslim film, U.S. government sources said on Monday. The cable, dispatched from Washington on September 10, the day before protests erupted, advised the embassy the broadcasts could provoke violence. It did not direct specific measures to upgrade security, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Condom used as evidence in Assange sex case 'does not contain his DNA' --Swedish authorities requesting his extradition from Britain to stand trial 15 Sep 2012 Lawyers for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange have revealed that a key piece of evidence does not contain his DNA. A torn condom given to Swedish police by one of the alleged victims was examined by staff at two forensic laboratories but they could not find any conclusive evidence of Mr Assange's DNA on it. The same forensic teams found DNA thought to belong to the WikiLeaks boss on another condom, which was submitted by the second alleged victim. The revelation is contained in a 100-page police report that was written after witnesses were interviewed and forensic evidence had been examined.
More than 180 Occupy Wall Street arrests in NYC financial district 17 Sep 2012 Occupy Wall Street protesters celebrated the movement's anniversary on Monday by clogging intersections in the city's financial district. In total, there were a few hundred protesters scattered throughout the city. More than 180 of them were arrested by early Monday evening, mostly on disorderly conduct charges. Zuccotti Park, the former home of the encampment, was encircled by metal police barricades lined with police officers standing watch.
Facebook blocks Press TV advertisements 18 Sep 2012 Facebook has blocked Press TV’s advertisements on the social networking website, saying that the Iranian news network is located in a region which is "not eligible to use this feature." Facebook’s risk management department informed Press TV in an email that the social networking website’s security systems had shut down the payments functionality on Press TV’s account. Judge: Police to enforce Arizona immigration law 18 Sep 2012 A judge has ruled that police in Arizona can immediately start enforcing the most contentious section of the state's immigration law, marking the first time officers can carry out a requirement that officers, while enforcing other laws, question the immigration status of those suspected of being in the country illegally. The decision on Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton is the latest milestone in a two-year legal battle over the requirement. It culminated in a U.S. Supreme Court decision in June that upheld the provision on the grounds that it doesn't conflict with federal law.
Shell executive caught after accidentally printing child pornography at work 17 Sep 2012 A former Shell executive was caught downloading child pornography at home when he accidentally printed off explicit images at work, a court heard. Anthony Sturman, 59, sent six pages containing indecent material to a printer at the UK headquarters of Shell UK, where he had worked for 15 years. Sturman, described as a 'senior manager' at the oil giant, was viewing child pornography at his country home in Kent when he pressed the print button. His PC was linked to his work system, so the images were produced at his office.
Romney: 'Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace' 18 Sep 2012 US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney questioned the feasibility of the establishment of a Palestinian state in the West Bank, according to video footage published Tuesday by US magazine Mother Jones. "I'm torn by two perspectives in this regard," Romney said at a $50,000-per-plate fundraising dinner on May 17. "One is the one which I've had for some time, which is that the Palestinians have no interest whatsoever in establishing peace, and that the pathway to peace is almost unthinkable to accomplish."
Romney derides Obama supporters in hidden-camera speech 18 Sep 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney dismissed supporters of President Barack Obama - almost half of U.S. voters - as people who live off government handouts and do not "care for their lives," in a potentially damaging video. The video, taken secretly at a fundraising event for the former private-equity executive, was the latest setback for a campaign struggling with low poll numbers and reports of infighting. "There are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them," Romney said in a hidden-camera video of remarks to potential donors earlier this year posted on Monday on left-wing [sic] Mother Jones magazine's website
Inside the campaign: How Mitt Romney stumbled 16 Sep 2012 Stuart Stevens, Mitt Romney's top strategist, knew his candidate's convention speech needed a memorable mix of loft and grace if he was going to bound out of Tampa with an authentic chance to win the presidency. So Stevens, bypassing the speechwriting staff at the campaign's Boston headquarters, assigned the sensitive task of drafting it to Peter Wehner, a veteran of the last three Republican White Houses and one of the party's smarter wordsmiths. Stevens junked the entire thing, setting off a chaotic, eight-day scramble that would produce an hour of prime-time problems for Romney, including Clint Eastwood's meandering monologue to an empty chair. Romney's convention stumbles have provoked weeks of public griping and internal sniping about not only Romney but also his mercurial campaign muse, Stevens.
Chicago's Teacher Strike Ends; Classes Resume Wednesday --Union's House of Delegates vote to end strike; Contract ratification still pending 18 Sep 2012 Chicago's first teacher strike in 25 years came to an end Tuesday after more than a week of discussions and rallies that had parents scrambling to find alternative care for their children. The Chicago Teachers Union's House of Delegates -- nearly 800 members -- voted to end the strike during a meeting at Operating Engineers Hall, at 2260 Grove Street, on the city's south side.

The Human Earthquake Hits University of Houston

Marvin X smashed through the "Veil" at the University of Houston's Africana Studies Department. He addressed students in Dr. Conyer's Sociolinguistics class, followed by speaking with students in Dr. Malachi Crawford's Introduction to African American Studies.

Marvin X read from his assorted writings then took questions. For the Sociolinguistics class, he opened with his essay The Psycholinguistic Crisis of the North American African, describing how we endured the transformation from Kunta Kinti to Toby, a psycholinguistic crisis of major proportion, with the attendent trauma and colonization of the black mind, the initial destruction of the self.

He then read several poems using language from the Black Arts Movement. Amiri Baraka taught us if you mean "get off the sidewalk," then say "get off the sidewalk." Nothing subtle here, no metaphor, inuendo, circumlocution. As Clay told Lula in Baraka's Dutchman, "If Bessie Smith had killed some white people, she wouldn't have needed to sing the blues!" "All the hip ofays talk about Charlie Parker, but they don't know Charlie Parker was saying, "Up your ass, motherfucker, up your ass."

I have long wanted to discuss language problems relating to the psychology of the oppressed. Let's begin with the notion that the oppressed is a disoriented person suffering symptoms of amnesia :he is not quite sure who he is, where he is, where he came from or where he is going.

We know to a great extent he was stripped of his cultural trappings and forced to don the apparel of the so-called negro, for American slavery would not allow him to retain knowledge of his African self--it was a danger to the slave master's plan of eternal servitude. So the proud African was beaten down from Kunta Kinte to Toby, perhaps the first level in his psycho-linguistic crisis: who am I, what is my name? Once in the Americas, he was no longer Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, Congo, Ashante but Negro, and according to Grimm's law (the consonants C,K, and G being interchangeable) he was a dead, from the Greek Necro, something dead, lifeless, without motion and spirit. Of course, he retained some of his African consciousness in the deep structure of his mind, in the bowels of his soul and he expressed it in his dance, his love life, his work habits, his songs and shouts, but basically he was a trumatized victim of kidnapping, rape and mass murder--genocide, for after all, when it was all said and done, between 50 and 100 million of his brothers and sisters were lost in the Middle Passage, the voyage between Africa and the Americas, thrown to the sharks that trailing slave ships, one of which was named Jesus, perhaps the same one whose captain had the miraculous conversion and wrote the song Amazing Grace! But changing the African into Negro was a primary problem in terms of identity which persists until today, even as we speak a new generation is now in crisis trying to decide whether they shall be called by Christian, Muslim or traditional African names, trying to decide whether they are Americans, Afro-Americans, African-Americans, Bilalians, Khemites, Sudanese, or North American Africans.

With this term I've tried to emphasize our cultural roots by making Africa the noun rather than the adjective. Also, I wanted to identify us geo-politically: we are Africans on the continent of North America, as opposed to Africans in Central and South America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia or the Motherland. As such, we are unique and have created an original African Culture in North America, imitated throughout the world.

The whole world wants to talk like us, dance like us, sing like us, dress like us: we have the highest standard of living of any Africans in the world and are thus in the position of leadership even though we lack any degree of National sovereignty, are yet a defacto Nation, albeit captive and colonized, exploited 24/7 by any pimp fearless enough to enter the ghetto, and there are many from around the world, including Asians, Arabs, Jews, Africans, West Indians, and Latins. I refuse to be sympathetic to anyone exploiting North American Africans--call me anti Pan African, anti Third World, whatever, but don't pimp my people and expect me to accept it because you're from Africa or Jamaica. I wouldn't go to Jamaica and exploit Jamaicans, then have the nerve to refer to them as "you people." I would be nice and diplomatic on their turf--then talk about them when I got home.

We are often derided by our African and Caribbean brothers, sometimes called "black Americans" but often simply "Americans," said in the most derogatory manner, as if we're dirt or feces, meanwhile they are in America enjoying the benefits of our struggle with the white man. If everything is so cool in Jamaica, why did they leave their Island in the sun?

With the last statement, we enter the Pan African psycholinguistic crisis, transcending the borders of North America, and perhaps the crisis of the North American African cannot be understood except in terms of the international Pan African struggle for liberation from neo-colonialism, the last stage of imperialism. The colonized man--wherever he is, wherever he's from--is a sick man, mentally ill. And as Franz Fanon pointed out, the only way the colonized man can regain his mental health is through the act and process of revolution. Dr. Nathan Hare tells us in his introduction to my autobiography SOMETHIN' PROPER, that neither messianic religiosity nor chemical dependency will free us. We must grab the bull by the horns or slay the dragon....

What is Love?

What is love
only kisses hugs
what is love
only meetings of the minds
what about times when minds do not meet
is love not present in the air in the blood of loving souls
too ignorant to know the test of love
the many ways it strives to be and not be
yet is always
and forever
not always tender
sometimes rough and sharp
like a razor cutting to the heart
love is pain
we take to grow
be strong again
tears in the night
alone again
we find ourselves
wondering
if love was even real
yet it was
if we see
if we look
beyond romantic notions of everything is cool always with love
but we know the blues of love
when we miss the wrords from lips so tender in truth
but we miss them
in haste
to be the authority on love
yet love
has beeen around since eternity and will stay
when lovers have gone away
it will stay
in spite of all the tears
the fights
the verbal bouts
even the put outs
and come backs
and gimme my keys
and why don't you call
and don't you still care
and why did you go
and do you really lover her or really love him
after all the time we shared
how could you do this to me
after all I did for you in the night
what is love
sometimes we must enjoy the hurt the pain
to grow
be wise again
this time
with God
in the center of things
but try
for love is precious
time is short
life must be lived with joy
somehow
through it all
let joy arise
take control of love.

Black is Back Rally in Wash. DC

Break the Silence of War and Oppression: Black Is Back Coalition to Rally and March in DC in November

from the Black is Back Coalition
On the heels of its national conference last month in Newark, New Jersey, the Black Is Back Back Coalition will rally under the theme “Breaking the Silence,” in Washington, DC, on November 3 and 4. “Our people are enduring oppressive conditions that can only be likened to a state of warfare in every community where we are located within the U.S…. We will disavow the charlatans, poseurs and sycophants who have been chosen by our oppressors as our leaders. “

Break the Silence of War and Oppression: Black Is Back Coalition to Rally and March in DC in November
from the Black is Back Coalition
The following is a statement by the Steering Committee of the Black Is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations.
We must break the silence surrounding the fallacious idea of a “post-racial” America.”
On November 3 and 4th the Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations is sponsoring a rally, march and conference in Washington, D.C. to break the silence surrounding the escalation of the historical oppression of our people in the U.S. and throughout the world.
At the time when the U.S. is declaring an end to its wars against the peoples in Iraq and Afghanistan, our people are enduring oppressive conditions that can only be likened to a state of warfare in every community where we are located within the U.S.
We are being violently attacked by state-imposed poverty and joblessness intensified by the mass incarceration of our young people that takes away potential breadwinners through imprisonment and the subsequent denial of work because of past convictions.
We suffer an economic embargo as intensive as those imposed on declared enemies of the U.S. government that leads to economic sanctions that deny bank loans and trade opportunities – such as we have seen imposed on Zimbabwe, Cuba, Iran and Syria.
Our children are forced to endure brutally mind-numbing indoctrination that is euphemistically referred to as education. They are stuffed into institutions that crush their spirits and punish their curiosity with the support of police agencies that normally push the students into the cavernous jaws of a U.S. prison system that is the largest in the world, half of whose inhabitants are black.
This is the same prison system that has swallowed up some of our best men and women who have voluntarily put their lives on the line to struggle for the freedom of our people during some of our darkest days of oppression. These are political prisoners, the existence of which is denied by a U.S. government that postures on the world stage as a messenger of freedom and democracy, sometimes as justification for attacking and occupying other countries and peoples.
Our children are forced to endure brutally mind-numbing indoctrination that is euphemistically referred to as education.”
We must break the silence surrounding the fallacious idea of a “post-racial” America that is used to muffle the cries of the dispossessed from Hurricane Katrina, of the mothers and loved-ones of black men shot down every 36 hours by the police, of thousands of our young people brutalized in children’s prisons, of the millions unjustly stopped and frisked and the thousands sentenced to life without parole while criminal bankers walk free.
We must protest the dispossession from the foreclosures caused by the subprime mortgage fraud created by prestigious financial institutions and supported by the U.S. government with the explicit intent of looting the meager resources of already impoverished black and Latino communities.
Our voices must be heard!
We must break the silence! We must rally and march and plan a future that will revoke the current trend of religious and national persecution of Muslims and Arabs who are thrown into prisons in the U.S. and elsewhere to prevent their voices being heard in protest of U.S. foreign policy objectives resulting in rapacious wars and occupation.
We must challenge the retroactive sanctity of U.S. borders that are used to prevent entry by many of the people who remain impoverished and oppressed from the moment they were robbed of their land by European interlopers who have now designated others as aliens, illegals and undesirables.
We protest the continuing deadly oppression of the indigenous people upon whose land European invaders established a parasitic economy based on slave labor and an inherently unjust State to defend its insatiable appetite for conquest. We will demonstrate our disgust and opposition to the existence of the life-sucking concentration camps that are hidden by the convenient euphemism of Indian reservations.
We must rally and march and plan a future that will revoke the current trend of religious and national persecution of Muslims and Arabs.”
Our voices must be heard in protest of the brutal continuation of centuries of exploitation of Africa, something that was begun with our capture, dispersal and enslavement in the U.S. and throughout the world.
We must declare loudly that Africa is for Africans! Those at home and those abroad! We oppose the continuation of the historical looting of Africa that leaves our people on that continent, perhaps the richest in the world in natural and human resources, barely existing from hand to mouth while fattening the bellies and bank accounts of predators that benefit from the misery of our people.
We must vociferously oppose the U.S. created Africa Command or AFRICOM that has been tasked with the responsibility of keeping Africa and Africans impoverished and keeping the resources of Africa for the U.S. at the expense of Africans and other imperialist competitors.
Let us break the silence surrounding the plight of our brothers and sisters in Haiti who continue to be punished for having the audacity to win the first slave and worker’s revolution in history and opening its doors to the enslaved of the world during the heyday of slavery in the early 19th Century.
We will not be silent as the U.S. government continues to support the white nationalist settler state of Israel that stands on the throats of the Palestinian people.
We refuse to be a party to the U.S.-led war on Libya and the lynching of its President Muamar Ghaddafi, an advocate of the unification of Africa and an opponent of the U.S. military outpost state of Israel.
Let us break the silence surrounding the plight of our brothers and sisters in Haiti.”
No attempts by the white ruling class media can confuse us about the U.S. threats against Iran, that secured its freedom from a U.S.-imposed, U.S.-armed and U.S.-supported tyrant in 1979. We are clear that the U.S., with the largest nuclear arsenal in the world and the only country to have ever used atomic weapons in human history, has no moral grounds to stand on as it threatens war against Iran for an unsupported claim that Iran is developing nuclear weapon capacity.
And, while most of the traditional peace and anti-war movement has been shamefully silent in the face of the imperialist aggression now being suffered by Syria, with the U.S. playing a primary role, we will not be silent.
Black is back.
After the brutal murders of our leaders in the 1960s successfully decapitated our movement, after the assassinations of Dedan Kimathi, Patrice Lumumba, Thomas Sankara, Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King, Lawrence Mann, more than 30 members of the Black Panther Party and untold numbers of other black leaders in the U.S. and abroad, black is back!
We are providing our movement with its greatest potential for unity since the magnificent worldwide revolution of the 1960s.”
We are here and we are becoming better organized each day. We are providing our movement with its greatest potential for unity since the magnificent worldwide revolution of the 1960s.
On November 3rd we rally in Malcolm X Park in Washington, D.C., from every community in the U.S. Here we will make our united voices heard; here we will declare our united will to join with the peoples of the world to change the course of history that has enslaved and impoverished the majority for the benefit of the parasitic few.
We will bring the issues that plague our communities and the Earth to public view. We will loudly proclaim our right to live healthy, informed lives without violence, poverty, early death, prison and fear.
We will disavow the charlatans, poseurs and sycophants who have been chosen by our oppressors as our leaders.
On November 4th we will hold a conference to organize and plan. We will collectively decide what to do to tell our own story and to place our own aspirations, values and plans on the agenda for human progress and the conquest of social justice, peace and reparations.
The Black is Back Coalition for Social Justice, Peace and Reparations can be contacted through its website, blackisbackcoalition.org.

SisterSpace - Sunday: 7:30 -8:00 PM.
SisterSpace radio presents lively, diverse and sometimes controversial topics. SisterSpace airs the brilliantly incisive political commentary by Death Row immate Mumia Abu Jamal each week. SisterSpace features current events, the Black World, politics, economics, women issuses, health, music, art and relationships...all with an Afro-centric flavor. Sistah Anelle has a no nonsense cut-to-the-chase style that brings forth the truth of the matter. It is provocative and simply good radio. Tune in every Sunday night at 7:30 pm. SisterSpace...for women AND for men.
"SisterSpace, a public affairs program of infinite proportions...a space of unlimited possibilities...a parallel universe of alternative realities. SisterSpace...a space...a place...a time...where daring to know, to be true to oneself, to heal and be in wellness is a statement of political resistance. SisterSpace..."
