Marvin X reads "Dope" by Amiri Baraka

Marvin X is now available for readings of his own writings and the works of fellow Black Arts Movement associates Amiri Baraka and Sonia Sanchez. This was his first public reading of Ancestor Amiri Baraka's poetry. It occurred at Oakland's Malcolm X Jazz/Art Festival, 2014. Marvin X is accompanied by David Murray, Earl Davis and other members of the Black Arts Movement Poet's Choir and Arkestra.

Marvin X appears in the just released film by Stanley Nelson: The Black Panthers, Vanguard of the Revolution. His writings appear in The Complete Muhammad Ali and Black Hollywood Unchained by Ishmael Reed. SOS, the Black Arts Movement Reader, also contains his writings. In a few weeks, Marvin X will receive the lifetime achievement award from PEN Oakland.
