Subject: Mayor Breed and Muhammad Nuru, Much to do about nothing

Despite the personal relationship of Mayor London Breed and Muhammad Nuru was twenty years ago and although they have remained friends down to the present, including his recent $5,600 loan to repair her car, there is no reason to suspect the Honorable Mayor Breed had anything to do with Muhammad's alleged crimes, no matter the new allegation Muhammad's co-conspirator paid $1,200 for a float representing the Mayor in the Gay Pride Parade. We see nothing illegal here and her behavior certainly doesn't warrant resigning as her loyal opposition on the Board of Supervisors insist which is nothing more than their continual wail for her dismissal since she doesn't share their pseudo progressive ideological persuasion and moral high ground tainted with an ample dose of racism that keeps the first Black Woman Mayor of San Francisco under more surveillance than the FBI had on former State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown. Is the Mayor allowed to fart without it being labeled a crime or infraction warranting her resignation?

Dr Raye Richardson, Mother of Black Studies, Departs at 99

We are deeply saddened by the news Dr Raye Richardson, Mother of Black Studies, has departed this world at 99 years old.

As a member of the Black Arts Movement, Black Studies and the Black liberation Movement, we came of age as part of the Richardson family. Julian and Raye Richardson mentored us and guided us through those stormy years of the 1960s. We seriously doubt any black person came into radical black Consciousness here in the Bay Area without frequent visits to Success Books that morphed into Marcus Garvey Books.

For sure, those brothers who were on the staff of Black Dialogue Magazine and the Journal of Black Poetry, when we tried to check on the status of our magazines being printed in the back of Marcus Books. we had to first hear the wisdom of Raye Richardson, then enter the printshop for a second and final dose of Richardson wisdom.
