"Despite the harrowing statistics, societal challenges and media representation of our families, we know that Black Love is alive and well and these couples, newlyweds to 66 years in marriage are a testament to that. The goal of my film, the conference and awards is to contribute to healing in our community and highlight and celebrate positive African American families," says Nisa Ra, organizer of the conference and Black Love Awards and director of the documentary, Black Love Lives.
