Dear Marvin,

What a way to start off the new year!

At tomorrow's meeting of the Reentry Solutions Group,
we'll review all we accomplished in 2012,
discuss last week's decision by the Board of Supervisors
regarding AB 109 funding,
and begin outlining the course ahead for 2013.

So register now to save your spot at the meeting
and help continue our string of collective successes so far:
  • We have created and operated an effective and impressive Community Advisory Board that is the model for counties across the state (and you'll find the new member list here).
  • Working collaboratively as community/county partners, we developed an AB 109 Operations Plan that will shape funding decisions for years to come.
  • And just last week, our Board of Supervisors adopted the AB 109 Operations Plan and Budget developed by the Community Corrections Partnership, allocating $5.35 million to invest in community-based programs and alternatives to detention to improve our reentry system. Read a news report here.
  • We'll also continue to develop strategies to move towards the national model of "justice reinvestment." Conceived by theJustice Center/Council of State Governments, this model seeks to direct create a more equitable, effective, and just system of prevention and reentry. Download the 4-page overview here.
Register now to save your spot and to ensure
that you'll be part of the first RSG meeting of 2013!

Come join the conversation!

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,
